This Saturday: TTC self-defence workshop
PUBLIC TRANSIT SELF-DEFENCE WORKSHOP
OCTOBER 24, 9AM-11AM, 240 MANOR RD. East.

BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND
You asked, so we're running it again.
You've probably had the moment. Someone starts escalating on the subway car and everyone suddenly stares at their phone. A stranger gets off at your stop and follows you. A shouting match breaks out three feet away and there's nowhere to move.
Most of us freeze, not because we're weak, but because nobody ever taught us what to do.
On Saturday, October 24, from 9-11AM, we are running our Public Transit Self-Defence Workshop: two hands-on hours built around the situations Torontonians actually face on the TTC.
You'll practise:
• Spotting trouble early and positioning yourself on platforms, cars and buses
• Using your voice and body language to de-escalate and set boundaries
• Getting free from grabs and holds in tight, crowded spaces
• Creating distance and getting out safely, including when someone follows you off the train
No experience or fitness level needed. Beginners are welcome, and our certified instructors adapt every drill to you. Wear comfortable clothes and indoor running shoes.
